A few months before the parliamentary elections in the country, the political parties - in power and opposition - are fighting a fierce battle with accusations and counter-accusations on various issues. Non-governmental organizations in the country are asking the deputies to refrain from derogatory language during plenary sessions in the Assembly of Kosovo.
In the ruling party - Vetëvendosje Movement, they say that the opposition parties, through accusations and, as they consider, slander, have chosen the "wrong path" to campaign for the February 9 elections. On the other hand, the opposition parties say that the harshness of the language comes from the government and according to them the majority "cannot be protected" from what the opposition calls scandals and corruption.
The researcher at the Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD), Naim Jakaj, tells KosovaPress that MPs should be an example of respecting and promoting democratic values.
The vocabulary in the parliament has been toughened especially after the publication in the media of the conversations in which the head of the parliamentary group of the LVV, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, with the former vice-president of the Serbian List, the terrorist Millan Radoicic, was involved..
For power, the opposition has recently been running an unfounded and irrational campaign against the government. This, according to them, also violates the political culture of inter-party relations.
LVV deputy, Adnan Rrustemi, tells KosovaPress that this language of the opposition is related to "anxiety about the result of the upcoming parliamentary elections".
However, such a thing is denied by the deputy of PDK, Hajdar Beqa, who says that the opposition is using the democratic mechanisms to prove the "mismanagement of the government, cooperation with the Serbian List" and, as he says, corrupt affairs.
Meanwhile, the head of the LDK Parliamentary Group, Arben Gashi, says that recently there have been no insults and insults, but only the presentation of the "reality of government affairs and scandals".
The opposition parties have sharply accused and criticized the government even after several reports in the media about conversations between the Coordinator of the VV committees, Dejona Mihali, and the former head of the KEK, Nagip Kransiqi. The government has described these as defamation.
Criticism and toughening of the language towards the government has also occurred after several arrests in the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure./E.Zeqiri.
