War veterans' organizations paid homage at the "Adem Jashari" memorial complex in Prekaz, on the 17th anniversary of Kosovo's independence. They criticized Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who they said has never cooperated with veterans.

The Chairman of the KLA War Veterans Organization, Hysni Gucati, said that they do not boycott the Independence Day celebration, but emphasized that they did not participate in the Organizing Council for marking this 17th anniversary of statehood.

He congratulated all the families of martyrs, invalids and veterans on February 17, while also mentioning the former KLA leaders who are being tried in The Hague.

"On this day, February 17, I first want to congratulate the families of martyrs, invalids and veterans, but also the friends we have in The Hague. A man who was a protagonist, Mr. Thaçi, and who is missing, today we do not feel well or happy. Emotions are great knowing that we have in prison, uncle Jakup, Rexhe and Kadri. This day does not bring us much pride considering that we are truncated without those men. We have boycotted the Organizing Council, because we have fought for this day today to be free. We have not boycotted the holiday. This is a big lie for those who think that the veterans' organization has boycotted the holiday. This is not true", He said.

"Since Albin Kurti's arrival in this government, we have offered him cooperation, but he has not been willing and at no time and at no moment are we the ones who do not approach the institutions. We are not the ones who avoid cooperation, but we are for cooperation. In this case, I want to ask him a few questions. The OVL-UCK has announced that they will not participate in the Kosovo Government's events marking the 17th anniversary of independence. They have considered the government and the prime minister "against the values ​​of the Kosovo Liberation Army's war."
