The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic plane crash that occurred on Thursday near Washington, DC.

"Deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash near Washington, D.C. My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this unimaginable tragedy. Kosovo stands with you in grief and solidarity," Osmani wrote on the social network X.

A passenger plane with 64 people on board has collided with a military helicopter and crashed into a river in Washington.

Search and rescue teams are engaged in searching for other people.
