Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani did not want to comment on the statement of her former party colleague and leader of the Guxo List, Donika Gërvalla, about the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, regarding the "self-proclaimed general".

"I did not follow such statements," Osmani said briefly when asked by KosovaPress how he assessed Gëvalla's statement.

The labeling of AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj as a "self-proclaimed general" by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla, cost the Vetëvendosje Movement 10 thousand euros. This is also the most severe punishment that the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Submissions imposed on this political entity with the decisions of January 29, 2025.

During her speech, Gërvalla said that the opposition "does not know and does not want to govern in Kosovo," while calling the candidate for prime minister from the coalition for a Victorious Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, a "hero of Çakorri" and a "self-proclaimed general."

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, paid homage near the statue of the hero Zahir Pajaziti, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of his fall and that of two other heroes, Hakif Zejnullahu and Edmond Hoxha.

Osmani recalled the sacrifice, bravery and courage of the heroes of Kosovo, Zahir Pajaziti, Hakif Zejnullahu and Edmond Hoxha, while stating that "they became messengers of freedom and inspired entire generations of the KLA to join the liberation war."

The country's leader stated that the freedom and sovereignty for which the heroes sacrificed must be constantly protected.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, along with other ministers and members of his cabinet, also paid tribute.

Also, near the statue of Zahir Pajaziti in Pristina, leaders of political parties gathered together with candidates for parliament.

On January 31, 1997, one of the first major battles of members of the Kosovo Liberation Army took place.

The three strategists, Zahir Pajaziti, Hakif Zejnullahu and Edmond Hoxha were traveling from Prishtina in the direction of Vushtrri, until their group is discovered by the Serbian security, who had laid an ambush in the village of Pestovë, where the three heroically fall in the fight with them.
