The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, remembered the sacrifice of heroes Jusuf and Bardhosh Gërvalla and Kadri Zeka.

On the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the murder of the heroes, Osmani paid homage at the monument to the hero Kadri Zeka, on which occasion he called for the perpetrators of the murders to be brought to justice.

Osmani said that this anniversary also honors their sacrifice, adding that "since then we have seen in the most cruel way Serbia's efforts to stop our national cause and our national resistance for freedom."

"Today is January 17, a painful day for the Republic of Kosovo. On this anniversary, more than 4 decades ago, Jusuf and Bardhosh Gërvalla and Kadri Zeka were treacherously assassinated in an assassination. Today, like every year, we honor them, because since then we have seen in the most cruel way Serbia's efforts to stop our national cause and our national resistance for freedom. However, as is known, such hegemonic regimes, genocidal regimes, cannot stop the spirit of an entire people from living freely. Even today, we painfully commemorate the sacrifice of the Gërvalla and Kadri Zeka brothers and all those who gave their lives for freedom. At the same time, today is also the anniversary of the macabre murder and assassination of Smajl Hajdaraj, who was unfortunately killed after the war but also by people who were against the freedom of Kosovo. We also commemorate that with pain and at the same time we call on them to bring the perpetrators to justice and for our justice institutions to do their utmost so that "They committed these murders even after the war, so they will face justice," said Osmani.

On January 17, 1982, brothers Jusuf and Bardhosh Gërvalla and Kadri Zeka were killed in an assassination attempt.

The assassination of the brothers Gërvalla and Kadri Zeka took place in Untergrupenbach, Germany.
