The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, declared today that the appetites for instability and tension are increasing from the autocrats and their satellites. In spite of these challenges, she emphasized that the efforts for sustainable advancement of democracy are continuing. After the meeting with the administrator of the American Agency for International Development, Samantha Power, the state leader said that so far USAID has invested over 1 billion dollars in the Republic of Kosovo. Meanwhile, Power stated that the normalization of relations with Serbia was also discussed in today's meeting, in which case he said that this would also be helped by the establishment of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority.
President Vjosa Osmani said that Kosovo and its people will always be grateful for the contribution of the American people.
The President emphasized that she is proud that the progress over the years is being recognized internationally, adding that Kosovo stands as one of the best performers and reformers in the global indexes for the rule of law and for preserving democracy.
"The Republic of Kosovo is already a day of hope and a source of stability at a time when appetites for instability, tension and conflict are ever increasing in our continent," she said.
Further, Osmani said that despite the destabilizing tendencies of the autocrats and their satellites, the efforts for sustainable advancement of democracy will continue.
Meanwhile, the administrator of the American Agency for International Development, Samantha Power emphasized that USAID makes efforts to push forward reforms that advance economic progress, employment opportunities for young people, and the growth of the sector that is under development.
Also, Power said that after the opening of the Commercial Court, he can send a message to business leaders in the world to invest in Kosovo.
In the meetings with Kurti and Osmani, she said that she emphasized the strong support of the United States of America for the normalization of relations with Serbia.
