Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has received an invitation from members of the United States Congress, the Senate and the House of Representatives, to attend the inauguration of the new American President Donald Trump.
Considering this event as an important moment in Kosovo-US relations, the president has decided to send a delegation from her cabinet, which, together with the Ambassador to the US Ilir Dugolli, will represent Kosovo at the inaugural activities on January 19-21, Bekim Kupina, media advisor, told KosovaPress.
President Osmani already had the opportunity to personally congratulate Trump during a substantive conversation last month at the Elysee Palace in Paris.
"This continued engagement reflects Kosovo's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the new American administration and advancing common interests," said Kupina.
Recall that, in protocol tradition, most countries are represented at the inauguration ceremony of the new American president by their ambassadors accredited to Washington. Donald Trump won the presidential election on November 5, where he was competing with Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.
