Even if Inter win the Scudetto in a stadium packed with Milan fans, the police are confident there will be no trouble between the fans as a pact has already been reached.
A victory would also mathematically guarantee Inter the title of Serie A champion, reports KosovaPress. However, since it is officially a match 'at home' of Milan, the red and black will be the majority in the stands.
In theory, this is a real opportunity for an "explosion", with two groups of ultras clashing in the stadium or on the streets if there are Scudetto celebrations.
However, "La Gazzetta dello Sport" points out that the police are convinced that there will be no problems because, unlike most matches, there has been peace in Milan since 1981. This is thanks to a non-aggression pact that the bosses of the two ultras signed after a tragedy , the death of 21-year-old Inter fan Vittore Palmieri near San Siro.
Neither side wanted to risk a repeat of this bloodshed, so they signed a 'pact of non-combat' that still stands to this day.
"The agreement is a guarantee for everyone, otherwise the streets of Milan would become a battlefield," Inter's ultra chief Marco Ferdico told the Corriere della Sera newspaper.
