Manchester City have confirmed that a fan died during Sunday's 2-1 defeat by local rivals Manchester United at the Etihad. The derby that gave the Red Devils three full points was overshadowed by the tragic death of a Man City fan.

A statement from the Premier League champions' social media account read: "Manchester City are aware of the tragic news that one of our fans has passed away following an incident at yesterday's match. The thoughts of everyone at the club are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time."

Tributes then poured in on social media, with countless fans sending their condolences.
