Voting begins at Kosovo's diplomatic missions

The spokesperson for the Central Election Commission (CEC), Valmir Elezi, announced that the voting process began at 7:00 in the morning in diplomatic missions.

At a press conference, Elezi announced that voting centers in European countries have opened, while voting in diplomatic missions in the US and Canada will begin at 13:00 PM.

"At 13:00 PM local time in Kosovo, the voting process is planned to open at the Kosovo embassy in the United States of America in Washington, D.C., the New York consulate, as well as at the Kosovo embassy in Canada, respectively in Ottawa, and the Toronto consulate," said Elezi.

He said that the total number of Kosovo citizens registered to vote is over 20 thousand.

"The total number of Kosovo citizens registered to vote in these 30 diplomatic missions of the Republic of Kosovo is 20 thousand 324. We clarify that only voters registered in diplomatic missions will be able to vote today, as the voter list sent to the diplomatic missions only contains the names of citizens who have selected this method of voting. So, at the time they were registered as voters outside Kosovo during the registration period from August 29 to December 26, 2024. The voting process will take place in 43 polling stations belonging to 16 embassies and 14 consulates of the Republic of Kosovo, which are located in 19 different countries," he added.

Voting at diplomatic missions began at 07:00 and closes at 19:00 local time in each country.
