Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a warning about the Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen, who have increased rocket and drone attacks on Israel in recent weeks, Anadolu reports.

"We are striking our enemies and those who think they can cut the thread of our lives here. This will apply to everyone," Netanyahu said on Wednesday X in a message marking the start of the Jewish Hanukkah holiday.

"The Houthis will learn, as Hamas, Hezbollah, the Assad regime and others have learned, and even if it takes time, this lesson will be understood throughout the Middle East," he added.

The Yemeni group says its attacks are revenge for Israel's genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, which has killed an estimated 45.400 Palestinians, most of them women and children, since October 2023.
