Spanish police have arrested five people on charges of planning terrorist attacks on government buildings in the country, as well as institutions supporting Ukraine in several European countries.
Barcelona police arrested two Russians and Belarusian, Colombian and Spanish citizens during the operation suspected of being linked to a terrorist organization, local media report.
The five have been described as pro-Russian terrorists and are accused of planning terrorist attacks in several European countries, El Periodico reports.
The arrested individuals are suspected of acting on the orders of a Russian national, whose name was not disclosed, and were planning terrorist attacks against governments and institutions supporting Ukraine, particularly in NATO member countries.
The five suspects will be brought to the National Court in Madrid on charges of terrorism and membership in a terrorist organization.
