The Judicial Inspection Unit has conducted eight inspections during the past year. At today's meeting of the Kosovo Judicial Council, the acting head of this unit announced that they have inspected 16 cases. At this meeting, the issue of using sick leave as annual leave by court employees was also discussed.

The Acting Director of the Judicial Inspection Unit, Dul Gjoci, presented the work of the past year, emphasizing that there is not a sufficient number of officials within this office.

Judge Artan Abazi asked about the use of sick leave by the judicial administration.

"During the inspection, were you able to confirm that these holidays are really taken when the worker needs them, or does this mentality continue that sick leave is considered old unused leave?" he said.

Regarding this issue, Gjoci said that it is a worrying issue that has been presented by the assembly of mayors.

"It is a worrying issue that they have expressed as a concern in the meetings we have had at the assembly of mayors. The unit has acted on the basis of the request, where all findings in relation to sick leave have been placed in relation to their reasonableness," he said.

At today's KJC meeting, Shkelzen Syla was appointed as acting supervising judge of the Special Chamber of the Supreme Court.

Also, Judge Lirije Maksutaj has been appointed as a first instance judge of the Special Chamber of the Supreme Court..
