The Democratic Party of Kosovo will be the winner of the February 9 elections, says the party's candidate for deputy, Nait Hasani, who is number 42 on the electoral list - the number of years he has been in politics. One of his priorities as a deputy in the next legislature is to address concerns related to the Special Court in The Hague.
"I will address these issues in the Assembly and will ask the Prime Minister to use diplomacy wherever our diplomatic missions are to write letters and send documents that the KLA is clean and is being unjustly accused."", says Hasani in an interview with KosovaPress.
The Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, or as they are known, the Special Court, prosecutes alleged war crimes and is currently facing former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army in a protracted trial.
Hasani, a former political prisoner, says that Kosovo's next prime minister must show the European Parliament, and even the US, that the KLA trial is an injustice.
Speaking about the trials in The Hague, Hasani says that the accusations from the Special Chamber are fabrications by Serbia, which is judging the war of the Kosovo Liberation Army.He vows to engage in the Assembly to ensure that Kosovo's diplomatic missions write letters and documents to all world centers stating that the KLA is clean and is being judged unfairly.
"Another focus will be the issue of the Special Court, where the leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, my friends and comrades are there unjustly with accusations from Serbia. Accusations made by Albanian-speaking Albanians. Hashim Thaçi is not there, they are wanting to judge the authority and the KLA there. They are wanting to judge the president of Kosovo, by judging him, they want to judge the entire KLA and the state of Kosovo. I will address these issues in the Assembly and will ask the Prime Minister to write letters and send documents through diplomacy wherever our diplomatic missions are that the KLA is clean and is being accused unjustly. On the other hand, the Prime Minister himself, Bedri Hamza, should ask the European Parliament to the US that it is an injustice being done to the trial of the KLA," Hasani declares.
Hasani, among other things, says that with Bedri Hamza as prime minister, salaries will increase by 50 percent for the public sector, and pensioners and categories emerging from the war will be treated with dignity.
"There are many demands from citizens, a lot of dissatisfaction with the current government. The absolute majority demands changes. There are no investments, there is extraordinary inflation, there is a huge increase in prices and the citizens' basket has been impoverished. Now a change is required. What is required is a person who has experience, a long political experience in responsible positions as Minister of Finance, Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, and people believe when you tell him that there will be a 50 percent salary increase, because the same thing happened in his time. When you speak, a person who has taken such an action is trustworthy. The same is demanded by pensioners, police officers, security forces, civil servants, doctors, teachers. Bedri Hamza, with the PDK program, has focused the campaign and the resolution of citizens' demands on these points. Based on the terrain we see, based on the demands we hear and based on the people we talk to every day, not only from our structures, we see that the spirit is very positive and the PDK will win the elections. "For five years, Kosovo has been at a standstill, it has not moved forward. Stopping in time is regression. The moment you stop, you are left behind, because others have moved forward," Hasani emphasizes.
He criticizes the current Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, who, according to him, has shaken relations with international allies."The focus is on international relations. All international relations have been shaken during the 5 years of the Kurti government. Sanctions have been imposed, this is the most severe possible so far. The allies that have supported us in liberating ourselves from Serbia have imposed sanctions. When the United States imposes sanctions, it is a serious matter. You have to look at yourself and analyze where you are. A world superpower has imposed sanctions on you, the European Union has imposed sanctions on you. What are the reasons? Due to political arrogance. Therefore, citizens are asked to condemn this arrogance by voting," he adds.
In addition, the former ambassador of Kosovo to Albania says that he will also work hard to deepen cooperation with his home country.
"We have always had the goal and ideal of offering ourselves and uniting with Albania. Our struggle has been for rapprochement and unification, but in political circumstances this situation has come about. Now we are two states but one nation, we need to bring education closer, curricula, the same history, the same music, the same geography and we can do all of this together. This is rapprochement of the nation and unification of the nation. Now it is economic and political unification. Even when I was ambassador, we made efforts to bring them closer through laws, but we are still stuck since 2010 when a primer was made and there is no development. The moment when the two prime ministers have cooled them down, let alone frozen them, then an unfavorable position has come. Today, it seems like two opposites going in opposite directions and not two getting closer. Therefore, a change in policy is required in relation to Albania", Hasani declares.
Hasani, who has been part of politics for the past 42 years, says that he will use his experience to consolidate Kosovo, both domestically and internationally.
"I am who I have been. I have been part of politics for 42 years, with five mandates as a deputy. I will use my experience again. People know me for my positions. Therefore, I ask for everyone's vote for PDK, Bedri Hamza as prime minister and me as candidate number 42. I have 42 years in politics and number 42 on the PDK list," he concludes./KosovaPress
