The absence of senior Kosovo officials at the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump is being considered worrying by political analysts. According to them, this indicates "the damaged relations of this political establishment with the US."

Trump is sworn in today as the 47th president of the United States and will deliver the traditional inauguration speech in front of many attendees and world personalities.

President Vjosa Osmani sent a delegation headed by the Ambassador to the US, Ilir Dugolli.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, former president Behgjet Pacolli, the mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, and businessman Shkëlqim Devolli, are participating in the ceremony.

Political analyst Magbule Shkodra tells KosovaPress that it is good that various politicians and businessmen from Kosovo are participating in Trump's inauguration as president, but according to her, it was important that the country be represented at the highest level..

"It is important for Kosovo to be represented by state officials. It is good that other officials are participating, as we have a representative from an opposition party, as well as business representatives. However, Mr. Kurti's absence there speaks volumes. Mr. Kurti's poor relations with the United States are now being reflected in this," she emphasizes.

Political analyst Arbnor Sadiku also finds the absence of any head of state at Trump's inauguration worrying.

"This shows the approach of President Trump and the Republican Party that a government, let's say headed by Kurti, which is currently governing, is not welcome to them, as it is not the right solution for cooperation with the United States of America," Sadiku declares.

President Vjosa Osmani announced a few days ago that she has received an invitation from members of the United States Congress, the Senate and the House of Representatives, to participate in the inauguration of the new American President Donald Trump, but she has decided to delegate an official from her cabinet to represent Kosovo.

On the other hand, the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo has not told KosovaPress whether they have received an invitation to President Trump's inauguration.

Trump won the US presidential election in November, defeating Democratic opponent Kamala Harris.
