Candidate for deputy from the Democratic League of Kosovo, Besim Mulaj, has commemorated the historic president Ibrahim Rugova, on the 19th anniversary of his death.

Together with senior LDK officials, he paid homage at Rugova's grave, remembering him as a personality who left an indelible mark on world history.

"With his unique dimensions, Dr. Rugova continues to be a symbol of calm, wisdom and far-sighted vision for Kosovo. Even with his death, he caused over 100 delegations from around the world to unite on our soil to honor a special leader, who became news in every corner of the globe," said Mulaj.

He said that President Rugova's philosophy remains fundamental for building and preserving the state.

"Dr. Rugova taught us that "A house without friends cannot be held" - a message that is more important today than ever before. As a nation, as a state, we need his wisdom and approach that connected the hearts of Albanians with international friendship. In these moments of challenges, the commitment to be steadfast in his path and philosophy is indispensable. Kosovo needs his calm and vision to build bridges of cooperation and to preserve peace as a supreme value," Mulaj wrote on Facebook.
