Kosovo can benefit enormously from the pragmatist policy of the newly elected president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, experts in international relations say. According to them, American policy is not expected to change towards Kosovo, but the methods for implementing the agreements for the normalization of relations with Serbia may change. However, it is considered that certain individuals of the political scene in Kosovo can be "sanctioned" if they do not adapt to the new dynamics of American politics.
The professor of international relations, Dritëro Arifi, tells KosovaPress that "if Kosovo is smart and flexible" it can benefit a lot from the policy of the American president, Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, expert on international relations, Magbule Shkodra, says that under the Trump administration, the status quo in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue will not continue.
According to her, Trump will be more determined in realizing the agreements within the dialogue, especially the Washington agreement, reached during his term in 2020.
On the other hand, Professor Arifi considers that with Trump as president, the dynamics of the dialogue will change, as he adds that he will seek concrete results and with defined deadlines in this process.
