The miners of Trepça have made a decision to organize a supposedly peaceful protest to express their grievances, for the ongoing injustices that have now become known, i.e. the non-realization of wages for the miners of Trepça for more than two months.
In the announcement of the Independent Union of Trepca Miners, it is stated that the protest will be held in Pristina near the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, on Thursday, August 15 from 12:00.
"The march would start from Zahir Pajaziti square-Prishtine, up to the building of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. This protest reflects the only demand of the miners, which is the payment of unpaid wages for almost three months", the announcement states.
It is further stated that: "You should know that the situation of the miners has worsened excessively, the non-execution of wages has sent the miners into a situation of crisis for existence, therefore as a means of seeking bread for themselves and their families, the protestors have remained as a legal and democratic tool.
It has been more than two months since the miners of the public enterprise Trepça in Stan Tërg have not received their salaries for the months of June and July.
Regarding the developments in the company "Trepça", the Government of Kosovo has reacted. The latter states that it is committed to supporting the company "Trepça" as well as all other public companies. However, he did not specifically mention the issue of non-payment of salaries, or the resolution of miners' demands.
