The Croatian Mountain Rescue Service HGSS has released details and photos of the plane crash in the forest south of Kerestinac in Croatia, where one person died and four others were injured.
"Today, on May 25, 2024, a Cessna 182 plane crashed in the area of the Municipality of Stupnik. The first report at HGSS was received at 16:13. Based on the report, HGSS Samobor teams were immediately sent to the field: 12 people with 3 vehicles, HGSS Zagreb: 10 people with 2 vehicles, HGSS Karlovac: 3 people with XNUMX vehicle", announces HGSS.
The HGSS Samobor station team arrived on site at 17:18. Police, DVD Stupnik firefighters and emergency workers were present at the location. The plane was found at Stupnički Obrezh location, Micani street in the forest. HGSS, together with emergency workers, participated in providing first aid and preparing the injured for transport.
By the joint forces of all services, the victims were transported in the vehicle of the emergency medical service (HMS). The HMS helicopter and the helicopter of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also took part in the intervention.
Dnevnik Nova TV reports that the plane's pilot contacted the search team immediately after the crash saying that the Cessna 182's engine had failed during takeoff.
