The third intergovernmental conference between Albania and the European Union has started in Brussels, for the opening of chapter VI of the negotiations.
The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, who is leading the Albanian delegation, said on Tuesday that this is a very important step and according to him, it is being done according to the plan.
"Our march continues. We are here to take an important step and open a new group chapter, which is important for our plan. This is because it is being done according to plan. We have to move forward and our ambition is to open more chapter groups, hopefully in the spring, and then make sure that next year closes with open chapter groups," said Rama.
This conference comes before the EU-Western Balkans Summit that will be held on Wednesday.
Official Tirana was separated from the package with North Macedonia, where for a period of several years decisions were made for both countries simultaneously.
