Manchester United will not activate a €20 million release clause for midfielder Sofjan Amrabat, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The Moroccan, born in Utrecht, is a player for Fiorentina and spent last season in the team from Old Trafford.
However, the Red Devils are ready to negotiate with 27-year-old Amrabat over his stay at the club and manager Erik ten Haag is happy with his performance.
Amrabat grew up in Utrecht, where he started his professional career in 2014, and left for Feyenoord in 2017 and stayed for one season. He spent 2018 at Bruges, who sent him on loan to Verona in 2019 and signed for Fiorentina in 2020.
The defensive midfielder particularly distinguished himself with a brilliant game at the World Cup in Qatar, when Morocco became the first African country to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.
Last season, he played 21 games in the Premier League, and two in the FA Cup and League Cup.
