The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, along with other ministers and members of his cabinet, paid homage near the statue of the hero Zahir Pajaziti.

On the 28th anniversary of the fall of Zahir Pajaziti along with Hakif Zejnullahu and Edmond Hoxha, Kurti honored them with a minute of silence, KosovaPress reports.

Leaders of political entities, along with candidates for MPs and their members, were also present to pay homage today. Also present was the Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama.

Meanwhile, the country's president, Vjosa Osmani, is also expected to pay homage.

28 years ago, the three emblematic soldiers of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Zahir Pajaziti, Hakif Zejnullahu, and Edmond Hoxha, fell heroically.

On January 31, 1997, one of the first major battles of members of the Kosovo Liberation Army took place.

The three strategists, Zahir Pajaziti, Hakif Zejnullahu and Edmond Hoxha were traveling from Prishtina in the direction of Vushtrri, until their group is discovered by the Serbian security, who had laid an ambush in the village of Pestovë, where the three heroically fall in the fight with them.
