The EU's special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, spoke after the new round of talks today in Brussels between chief negotiators Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovic.

He said that during this meeting they discussed the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, which has not yet begun to be implemented.

"We also discussed a number of important issues arising from past agreements and agreed on the next steps," Lajcak wrote in X, without giving more details.

After the meeting, chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi said that they have not yet reached agreement on how to move forward on the road to normalizing relations between the two countries, as the Serbian side is insisting on partial implementation of the basic agreement.

"Unfortunately, for the main topic we are gathering, there is no result. On the point about moving forward in normalizing reports. "Serbia is probably still insisting on partial implementation, so according to the idea, 'we do something, you do something,'" he said.

Meanwhile, Serbia's chief negotiator, Petar Petkovic, said that Kosovo should establish the association of municipalities with a Serbian majority.

Otherwise, the last tripartite meeting in Brussels was held on July 2, 2024.
