The Assembly of Kosovo, in continuation of the plenary session, dismissed the chairman and three members of the Board of the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals (KPMM). The opposition parties, which did not participate in the vote, did not agree on the dismissal of this board. Opposition MPs have stated that this board was appointed by the government itself, but today they are being dismissed illegally. The parliamentary majority by voting for each one separately dismissed the head of the board, Selvete Grajqevci Pllana, member Gani Kastrati, member Gani Maliqin and also Rrezarta Pushkolli Makollin who was a member of the board.
The Committee for Economy, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade recommended that the Assembly dismiss the members of the Independent Committee for Mines and Minerals.
The deputy of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Armend Muja, said that they have established that companies that have not fulfilled their obligations to the KPMM have been licensed and criminal proceedings have also been taken for violation of the law.
For the other members of this board, Muja emphasized that the dismissal is recommended, since, as he said, they have violated the KPMM law.
The deputy of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Ferat Shala, said that they will not vote for the dismissal of this board, since this attempt is illegal.
Shala added that they strongly support all the demands of the miners of Trepca, where he called on the government to reflect on this sector. Shala said that no one is visiting these miners who are on strike.
Even the deputy of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Valentina Bunjaku Rexhepi, said that they will not participate in the vote for the dismissal of this board.
The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Besnik Tahiri, said that at the time when the board was appointed by the current government, there was public praise for the members. He also expressed his opposition to the dismissal of this board in today's plenary session.
Even Tahiri has commented on the strike of the miners of Trepça, where he said that measures should be taken by the institutions.
