The deputies of the Parliament of Albania observed a minute of silence today in honor of the colossus of Albanian letters Ismail Kadare, who died on July 1 at the age of 88 from a cardiac arrest.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, said that "on behalf of the Assembly, we will start today's plenary session with honors for the honorable personality of Albanian letters, the great writer Kadare, who was taken to his last residence yesterday. We are all grateful to Ismail Kadare".

The colossus of Albanian literature, Ismail Kadare, was escorted yesterday to his last residence with all honors by thousands of citizens and public figures from Albania and Kosovo./ATSh/
