The energy storage system through batteries will stabilize the country's electric power system and reduce the cost of energy imports.

This is what the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said at the conference organized by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCA Kosova), regarding the pre-qualification procedures for the Design and Construction of Large Systems for Energy Storage through Batteries.

Prime Minister Kurti said that with this energy storage system, the security and reliability of energy supply will increase.

He added that 125 megawatts of this system will operate under the Energy Corporation and another 45 megawatts under KOSTT.

The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli said that the Compact program was the right decision for the energy system in Kosovo.

She said that the implementation of this project will save Kosovo's electricity system more than 15 million euros per year.

Resident Local Director of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Rinor Gjonbalaj said that the energy storage system will be the first in the region.

According to him, stability in energy will be provided through batteries.
