At the parade ceremony of the Kosovo Security Force and Kosovo Police, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that "behind us lies the long history of resistance and struggle to achieve the creation and construction of the state of Kosovo."
At this ceremony, which was closely attended by many citizens, Prime Minister Kurti mentioned all the personalities who helped Kosovo achieve its independence, starting with Hasan. Prishtina and to the former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi.
Kurti said that in the modern history of Europe, the creation of the state of Kosovo is one of the most powerful and exemplary stories of progress for freedom and perseverance for a state.
According to him, the history of Kosovo neither begins nor ends with any one generation.
At the main event marking the 17th anniversary of Kosovo's independence, Kurti also mentioned the country's leaders at the time when independence was declared, former President Fatmir Sejdiu, former Mayor Jakup Krasniqi, and former Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi.The Kosovo Chief Executive said that the Republic of Kosovo is the result, above all, of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
“The Republic of Kosovo is the result of the peaceful and persistent resistance of President Ibrahim Rugova, who, although he did not reach February 17, 2008 alive, called for and hoped for that day until his last breath....The Republic of Kosovo is the result above all of the Kosovo Liberation Army and its just struggle for liberation and freedom, which was assisted by the USA and NATO allies until final liberation in June 19999. The Republic of Kosovo is the result of the supreme act of the youngest generation of its people's elected representatives, whose names are read after the signatures signed in the declaration of Kosovo's independence on February 17, 2008 by 109 members of the Assembly as well as by the heads of state at that time, the President, Fatmir Sejdiu, the Speaker of the Assembly, Jakup Krasniqi and the Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi. "Today, as we celebrate the 17th anniversary of independence, all the martyrs and martyrs are among us because this common home of ours of Kosovo was built precisely from their blood," he said.
Prime Minister Kurti said that the KLA is the army that has suffered the most from ammunition, therefore, as he said, "there is no greater satisfaction than equipping the KSF with weapons."
Today, on the 17th anniversary of Kosovo's independence, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, together with President Vjosa Osmani, paid homage to the graves of former President Ibrahim Rugova and activist Adem Demaçi, and at the memorial complex in Prekaz.
The historic session was attended by 109 out of 120 members of parliament, who also signed the Declaration of Independence of Kosovo. Serbian members of parliament were not present at this session. The declaration of independence of Kosovo was made by the then Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi.
So far, 117 countries in the world have recognized Kosovo's citizenship, while Cyprus, Greece, Slovakia, Romania and Spain continue to not recognize it. /B.Ibishi//E.Zeqiri/
