Albin Kurti from the Vetevendosje Movement has commemorated the protests of February 10, 2007 against Kosovo's negotiations with Serbia and the Ahtisaari Package, in which Romanian UNMIK police killed Mon Balaj and Arben. Xheladinin.
In commemoration of the event 18 years ago today, homage was paid at Arben's grave. Xheladinit and Mon Balaj, as well as at the memorial plaque of the martyrs on "Mother Teresa" Boulevard in Pristina.
"The peaceful march of February 10, 2007, was met with terrible violence. Our activists Mon Balaj and Arben Xheladini were killed under the barrage of bullets that unjustly hit the numerous protesters in the square. We learned about the republic even before we had it, we expressed the legacy of historical memory and the importance of reflecting on the birth of the state, for democratic state-building without compromise.
In the square of justice, in the square of protests, we will always walk straight, with ideals, principles and values of freedom, democracy and the welfare state. Our memory of Arbe Xheladini"In Mon Balaj, it is indelible while their glory remains eternal in our hearts and minds," Kurti wrote on Facebook.
Otherwise, the KMDRLJ has demanded justice for the victims of February 10, and has demanded that Arben Xheladini and Mon Balaj to be accepted as political victims, to be rehabilitated and to gain the deserved status, while their families gain the right enjoyed by the families of civilian victims of war.
