At the Vienna Economic Forum, the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, participated in the panel on the topic "Economic cooperation is more important than ever". Prime Minister Kurti spoke about the topic of economic cooperation, which according to him is a topic that is important for our country and region. He said that economic cooperation is not only a political choice, but, as he said, it is a strategic necessity.
Kurti has also emphasized that Kosovo, like many other countries, has felt the effects of global economic uncertainties and interruptions of supply and change, especially in recent years.
That's why Kurti said that Kosovo needs economic cooperation. According to him, Kosovo is not a big country, but as he said "it is a wonderful example that democratic progress and economic growth go hand in hand and they actually impose each other".
Speaking about freedom of movement, he emphasized that without freedom of movement "we will not be able to gain the mobility of students and working professionals, which is key both for attracting foreign direct investments and for the growth of our economy".
Kurti emphasized that similarly, our northern neighbor, Serbia, should allow foreigners whose destination is Kosovo to go to Serbia afterwards. He said that unfortunately, whoever comes from Austria first to Kosovo, cannot continue to Serbia without first going to North Macedonia.
This forum provides a platform for political leaders, experts and representatives of the private sector to discuss challenges and opportunities in the field of economy.
