Kosovo increases sanctions against Russia

The Government of Kosovo has increased the sanctions against Russia, in accordance with those imposed by the United States of America and the European Union, which among other things include the freezing of assets in the territory of Kosovo for the sanctioned, travel ban, blocking access in funds and ban on operating in the Kosovo financial market for the sanctioned.

It was announced at the government meeting that the sanctions package also includes bans on Belarus.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi said that Kosovo is among the first countries in imposing economic and financial sanctions on Russia.

“These consist of freezing of assets in the Republic of Kosovo of sanctioned individuals or entities, ban on access and operation in the Kosovo financial market of sanctioned individuals or entities, travel ban on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo for sanctioned individuals, ban on individuals and entities in the Republic of Kosovo to make funds available, either directly or indirectly to sanctioned individuals and entities, prohibiting any Russian and Belarusian road transport undertakings from transporting goods by road within Kosovo including transit, excluding medical, agricultural and food products, including wheat and road transport for humanitarian purposes, and a ban on the import from Russia of coal and other solid fuels to Kosovo if they originate from Russia or are exported from Russia,” said Bislimi.
