Edoardo Bove spent a quiet night at the Careggi hospital, where he was transported yesterday after the illness he suffered in the Fiorentina-Inter match. The midfielder was admitted to intensive care and initially pharmacologically sedated, extubated. He is currently awake and alert and answering questions. In the evening, after all the necessary analyses, a more extensive report on his condition is expected.
According to what "Repubblica" reports, the first words spoken by Edoardo Bove were: "Thank you everyone". The newspaper further confirms that the Fiorentina footballer was revived in the ambulance.
According to the medical report, Bove had a cardiac arrest due to torsade de pointes, a type of arrhythmia in which the heart beats rapidly and irregularly. During the trip to the ambulance, the defibrillator was used to revive him, so much so that by the time he arrived at the emergency room, he was breathing and his heart had started beating again.
The tests also showed a low level of kaliumyth in the blood. The report also shows a blow to the chest, yet to be understood if he suffered during the match (minutes earlier he was involved in a tackle with Dumfries) which however is not necessarily related to cardiac arrest.
