As part of the nationwide manifestation "Flaka e Janari", a pleasant cultural event was held at the City Museum facility with the verses and sounds of Jusuf Gërvalla, on the 42nd anniversary of the insidious murder of the brothers Gërvalla and Kadri Zeke.
The vice-mayor of Gjilan, Leonora Morina - Bunjaku, on this occasion on behalf of the mayor of the municipality of Gjilan, Alban Hysen, has said that the aim of the "Flame of January" is being fulfilled to offer to the public real cultural values and the original achievements of of the last year in the main pillars of this manifestation, honoring fiery Januarys and emblematic figures.
She said that the "Songs of Yusuf" are valuable in the wake of the manifestation, which made Gjilan the center of culture in Kosovo.
"At the 38th anniversary of "Flaka e Janari" in Gjilan, our well-known writer Ismajl Kadare will be present, together with his wife and writer Elena Kadare. "Flaka..." is getting richer every day", said the vice president Leonora Morina - Bunjaku, who thanked the musicians and professors present, as well as the Directorate for Culture, Youth and Sports, which is led by director Kushtrim Zeqiri.
First, poems by Jufuf Gërvalla were read, and then the songs of this multidimensional personality were sung by Mehmetali Arifi - "I will return to mother", "Nightingale song" - Adhurim Rasimi, "Maji" - Hekuran Bllaca, "Vendlindjes" - Burim Demiri , "Njeri ku je" - Mehmetali Arifi, performed by the Orchestral Formation composed of Mentor Latifi - Harmonica, Burim Demiri - piano, Mehmetali Arifi - guitar, Hekuran Bllaca - cajon, and with a critical view of these songs, the professor, publicist and music critic, Sami Piraj, who said that Jusuf Gërvalla left a great wealth of songs from the genre of light music, which, in addition to the musical content texts, stand out for their great melodic, rhythmic and harmonic wealth, as well as for thematic variety. Piraj is presented with a look for each song of Jusuf Gërvalla, which was then sung by the audience, the look, but also the performance was accompanied by long applause.
Present at this cultural event, the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, daughter of Jusuf Gërvalla, said that this was an extraordinary moment, she shared some unsaid words, saying that the song "May" is the most personal of all songs of Jusuf Gervalla.
She said that in her family there was a lot of love, a lot of music and a lot of nostalgia, for those who were and those who were not. She revealed events from the Gërvalla family, saying that in the last two years of his life he had left his artistic and musical activities and concentrated with all his being on the national activity. His mission was to unite all Albanians in the common fight against the occupation and for the liberation of the country.
"The more we hear about Jusuf Gërvalla, lyrical and inspired by life, by Dubovic, by the central figure of his entire life - mother Ajshe, the more we notice the volcano that happened inside him that erupted into completely different forms". said Donika Gërvalla, who said that he always had his mother Ajshe in mind, so the song "I will return to my mother" is very special. She said that more beautiful than here there is only one more occasion to raise this event even more and that would be on Jusuf Gërvalla's birthday, to be celebrated together on October 1 in his Tower, where they live who know Jusuf Gërvalla even better.
The activities of "Flaka e Janari 2024" will continue with "Flaka Festival" and "Flaka Pen".
