Today marks 25 years since the heroic fall of the nation's martyr, Mensur Sefer Zyberaj, born on July 7, 1965 in the village of Drenaj in Anadrin. The hero Mensur Zyberaj was among the founders of the first KLA cells.

After finishing high school, Mensur Zyberaj enrolled in the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pristina. During his studies, crossing the paths towards knowledge and freedom, he expanded his activities and circle of friends. The faculty, studies and patriotic activity have been linked by the ideal of national unity and thus Mensuri has also been linked with: Lahi Ibrahimaj, Rexhep Selim, Kadri Veseli, Hashim Thaçin, Nuri Behxhet, Nait Hasan, prof. Muhamet Malësorin and prof. Ukshin Hotin and in Pristina he was factored together with Feim Gashi and Muhamet Malësori in the organization of the armed resistance, for which he was especially inspired by prof. Ukshin Hoti, "The Promise of Kosovo Citizenship".

In the spirit of the preparatory principles of the transition from illegal activity to more consolidated operational activity, he participated in the offensive actions on the stations and checkpoints of the Serbian police and the Police Station of Drinas (formerly Ratkoc) was emptied, which was destroyed by: Mensur Zyberaj, Feim and Bedrush Gashi with friends, today all martyrs of the nation. After this successful action for the Anadrin Group, Mensuri continued the activity with Vehbi Muharrem, Bedri Zyberaj, Tafil Zyberaj and Muharrem Berisha and accelerated the dynamics for the organization of armed resistance in the villages of Anadrin. To accomplish this task, Mensuri cooperated with the freedom fighters from Drenica and Commander Legend, Adem Jashari. In Likoc and Açareve, he was found together with Rexhep Selim, Kadri Veseli, Sabit Geci, Sami Lushtak and Xhelad Gashi - the Elder.

The fall of the martyr Luan Haradinaj on May 6, 1997 in the "Neck of Mullar", found Mensur in Shqiponjë, while the fall of the teacher Halit Geci in Llaushë, in Skënderaj. Together with Bedrush Gashi, Feim Gashi, Haxhi Hoti and Sakip Bellaq. In Likoc, they received tasks to act in the logistics sector which passed through Has. He had support from his brother Osman Zyberaj, known as "Baca the Little" and from his neighbor Isuf Sherif Gashi, the "Baca the Great" - two pillars in the organization of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

On April 26, 1998, the Kosovo Liberation Army publicly appeared in the village of Drenaj and the village was transformed into a barracks, while by order of the General Staff, the Local Operative Staff was established, which very quickly advanced to the regional level of Anadrin with the staff complete and operational plan for expansion. The work of the staff was directed by Mensur Zyberaj with the help of the Gashi brothers; Bedrush and Feim. With the constitution of the Regional Operational Staff, Xheme Gashi came to the fore with: Gani Paçarizi, Selajdin Mullabazi, Selim Krasniqi, Isuf Gashi, Bedrush Gashi and Mensur Zyberaj. After the action of April 26, 1998, between Krusha e Vogël and Pirana, on May 12, the first frontal fighting broke out between the forces of the Kosovo Liberation Army and the Serbian police forces in the hills near the villages: Franjakë, Bardhatin, Drenaj and Drina.

These battles have marked the Battle of Bardhatin, in which the Serbian police-military forces were broken, while in the ranks of the freedom fighters, Milaim Krasniqi and Elmi Morina e Mensuri were seriously wounded, and their brother Osmani was seriously wounded. But in those days, after the battle of Balinca and Llapushnik Gorge, the fighting spread to the Anadrin Plain.

After the defeat of the Serbian forces in Gardhisht, the police have set up the "Ambush of Përudha", between the villages: Forte e Xërxë, in which Mensur has been immortalized: Pëparim Thaçi of Landavica, Sakip Bellaqa of Burimit i Epërm and Feim Gashi of Drenaj have been wounded Islam Gashi was seriously injured, but Mensuri remained invincible and continued the war, which was spread across the villages of Anadrin. On June 6, Mensur Zyberaj was found in the battles of Drinas and on June 18-19 in Bokat e Kromnik.

On July 17, 1998, "Commander Pesqinshi" was in the battles for Rahaveci, while on July 18, in the Battle of the Fortress, Gani Paçarizin, Agim Kelmendi, Tafil Zyberaj and Skënder Jahë Kastrati were left without.

But, immediately after the fighting in July, the logistical lapse was investigated, so Mensur Zyberaj was once again engaged in the logistical corridor: Drenaj - Celinë - Rogovë - Kushnin - Cahan, in which he operated until October 27, 1998, when he encouraged his friends to was rearmed. On November 6, he lost Jelal Hajda and Selajdin Mullabazi, while on December 3 in Gurrazhub, his comrade-in-arms and friend of the ideal, professor Muhamet Malësori, was immortalized.

On December 12, he lined up in the "Echelon of Mujë Krasniqi" and by fighting through the snow and storm he reached Kosovo once again, but now without forty friends and without his son-in-law Isaj Muharrem Morina from Franjaka e Anadrin.

March of 1998, the martyr of the nation, Mensur Zyberaj, was found in the fighting around the "Pagarusha Pass", April in the "Berisha Mountains" from where he descended to the Anadrin Plain; he was found there together with commander Tahir Sinan and they coordinate the tactics to be incorporated in the "Arrow" operation in the direction of the highway Prizren - Gjakovë and from there to the villages around Drini i Bardhë.

On May 26, 27 and 28, 1999, Anadrin was surrounded again after the large Serbian forces undertook the "infantry combing" from the "Rrihje" of Rahavec in the direction of "Hamoce", "Pisjak", "Bërnayaka", " Rrapishteve", "Izbishti" and towards "Lugu i Qendresa", between the villages: Nagac, Hoçë e Vogël, Brestos, Zaçisht, Apterrush, Reti, Reti e Ulët and Qendrese (former - Randubravë) and so on May 28 at 30:XNUMX p.m., XNUMX, the Serbian forces confronted the freedom fighters and the fighting lasted until the total destruction of Milintjevic's forces. In the field of honor of the altar of freedom in the hills and valleys of Mileska, the following have fallen: Habib Gashi, Kurtish and Nazmi Hasani, Ismajl Gashi, Bedri Berisha of Valljaka, Manush Berisha, Agron Bytyçi and commander "Pesqinshi" - Mensur Zyberaj of Drenaj i Rahaveci . However, in this battle, resisting and attacking the Serbian military, police and paramilitary forces of the "Mileska Valleys", Rexhep Krasniqi, Selim Gashi and Isa Gashi were also seriously injured.

The Serbian forces, the remaining part, have been expelled in the direction of the highway Prizren - Gjakovë, while the fighters of Adem Jashari are positioned on the mentioned road axis at the "Pirana Bridge", where the war had started in the villages of Anadrin on April 26, 1998.

The Serbs had not succeeded in taking the bodies of the martyrs Habib Gashi, Bedri Berisha and Kurtish Hasani, but they have taken Mensur Zyberaj and Ismajl Gashi. After the end of the combat activities of the Pashtrik Operative Zone, the dead bodies of Mensur Zyberaj, Bekim Gashi, Dalip Behra and Ismajl Gashi were discovered in the Prizren cemetery. The reburial of the martyr Mensur Zyberaj took place on June 30, 1999 in the village of Drenaj in Rahavec next to the martyrs: Bedrush and Feim Gashi, Tafil Zyberaj and the victims of the war, who were joined by Isuf Berisha, who was executed in Dubrava Prison./ KosovaPress
