The former adviser of the former president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, Adil Behramaj has reacted to today's sentence of the Special Court against Pjetër Shala, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Behramaj, has mentioned the case of former president Donald Trump, where on Monday the court in Florida dismissed the case against Trump for the classified documents.

Behramj wrote that the dismissal of this indictment was done because the appointment of special prosecutor Jack Smith was found to be unconstitutional.

And, while he was talking about this, he asked if it is known how many illegal actions Jack Smith has done in the case against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selim and Jakup Krasniqi?

"The violations had already started on the day when President Thaçi was heading to the White House for a meeting with President Trump. Jack Smith's office illegally issued notice of indictment, which has yet to be confirmed. This notice was issued in violation of Rule 88(1) of the Rules of Procedure of the Specialized Chambers," he wrote.

This court brought the first indictments after the expiration of the 5-year mandate. The court was created for the sole and exclusive purpose of investigating and trying the specific crimes identified in Dick Marty's report. Her maximum temporary term was set at five years, unless the criminal proceedings ended earlier. The narrow and specialized jurisdiction of the Specialized Chambers and its limited time mandate was the reason why their establishment was widely supported by Kosovo's political leadership.

With political interpretations, for international interests, her mandate is being treated as unlimited, because human rights and the law in Kosovo and for Kosovars are not like in America, where Jack Smith cannot interpret as he wishes.

The indictment subsequently confirmed had nothing to do with the Dick Marty report, the foundation act of this court.

The results of the work of Jack Smith's office were purely political and non-legal in nature.

In America, only these 3-4 cases would be enough to drop this indictment.

Everything after that was non-transparency, harassment and politics. Without any accountability. Without any judicial correction. Without any state or international supervision.

It was injustice!

Even today's decision for Pjeter Shala was unfair!

If internationals need a false moral equivalence between Serbia's heinous war crimes and state-sponsored ethnic cleansing, with any individual crime that may have been committed by any Albanian against any Serbian civilian, Kosovo needs its own historical truth. !
