A tragic event occurred late last night in the village of Jabllanicë, in the municipality of Gjakova, where as a result of the collapse of an uninhabited building, three children lost their lives.

The victims are a 13-year-old and two other 16-year-olds from the Ramaj, Mehmetaj and Morina families, families that, along with the village, are in mourning today.

According to information from KosovaPress, one of the victims was the only child of the family. Meanwhile, the ruined building was once a market, which was unusable after the war.

According to some recordings from a home camera, it can be seen that the house was demolished around 16:35 PM, and the three minors were found by their family members six hours later with no signs of life.

The way the minors were found was explained to KosovaPress by the victims' family member, Përparim Ademaj, who helped pull them out of the rubble.

Ademaj said that after one of the parents was worried that her son was not answering his phone, he went out to look for him and when he saw the collapsed building, he suspected that they were inside it, while also showing the process of pulling them out of the rubble.

Meanwhile, residents have notified the police, firefighters and medical teams. The latter confirmed the deaths of the victims.

The KosovaPress team also visited the Gjakova Police and the Gjakova Hospital to obtain more information, but these two institutions did not want to talk.

Meanwhile, the firefighter shift leader in Gjakova, Gazmend Beqiraj, provided the information he had about this event, but not in the presence of the camera, since he was not on the midnight shift.

Beqiraj added that the station was called at 22:50 PM and the two teams that went to the scene completed the action at 12:40 PM.

"There were two teams, three vehicles, along with the brigade commander, Xhevdet Brahimaj. They called us around 22:50 PM and the team returned from the action at 12:40 AM, I have no other information," Beqiraj added.

The news of the death of three minors was confirmed to KosovaPress last night by the spokesperson for the Gjakova Police, Sheremet Elezaj. He said that they were informed that a slab of an uninhabited house had collapsed, trapping three children.

The team also tried to interview some of the victims' family members, but they did not want to talk.
