Lebanese Islamist group Hezbollah says it has withdrawn all its forces from Syria, two Lebanese security sources told British media.

The group withdrew its troops as rebel factions approached the capital Damascus. Iran-backed Hezbollah helped prop up the Assad regime but has been decimated by its war with Israel.

Meanwhile, the French media report that a lounge in the presidential palace, which until yesterday was used by the Syrian dictator, has been burned in Damascus.
