The harvesting campaign has started in most places in Kosovo. Even though they still haven't received the subsidies from the Government, the farmers are calling it a successful year, while experts say that there won't be enough wheat production this year either.

Farmer Valon Vehapi, from Suhadolli i Lipjan, who has about 80 hectares of wheat and corn, told KosovaPress that subsidies in agriculture have not yet started. He says that they have received information from the ministry that the tools have been approved for a large part of the farmers.

According to farmer Valon Vehapi, the cost of production will be 1100 euros per hectare, while wheat is 20 cents.

The professor of agriculture at the Faculty of Agriculture of the UP, Imer Rusinovci, has asked the Ministry of Agriculture to prioritize oil for combine harvesters in addition to subsidizing wheat, since work in agriculture requires large expenditures of derivatives.

Harvester Skender Hyseni said that in his 46 years of working experience in this field, he never remembers a year like this one. Hyseni calls this a "year with blessings, auspicious and with all good things".

Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture claim that this year there will be abundant wheat production.
