The chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, has said that the pension of 100 or so euros is not enough even for basic medicines, pushing many towards extreme poverty.
Haradinaj said that the government of Kosovo has abandoned this category of society.
"Pensioners in Kosovo face a difficult economic situation. In a conversation with pensioners and veterans of education in Vushtrri, they expressed deep disappointment with their economic and social situation. The broken promises of the last four years are an indication of fraud and abandonment of this category by the Government", said Haradinaj.
Haradinaj has added that the pension of 100 or so euros is not enough even for basic medicines, pushing many towards extreme poverty.
"The pension of 100 euros is not even enough for basic medicines, pushing many towards extreme poverty. The least of them will be at the level of the minimum wage, reaching the figure of 450 euros. Our projection is to provide a two-year budget for the health insurance fund for the beginning of the implementation of the law on health insurance for all citizens.
We believe in a Kosovo where pensioners enjoy special care, and where every citizen lives with dignity", said Haradinaj.
