The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, has severely criticized Prime Minister Albin Kurti for his approach to the Albanian diaspora.
In a post on Facebook, Haradinaj accused Kurti of lying and cheating the Albanian diaspora on the eve of the February 9, 2025 parliamentary elections.
"The Albanian diaspora is part of the homeland and its contribution to freedom and the state has been essential. But the Albanian diaspora does not deserve to be lied to and deceived so shamelessly every time the elections approach," wrote Haradinaj.
He said Kurti should tell the diaspora the truth about the situation in Kosovo, including allegations of theft of army food reserves, the exclusion of freedom fighters from pay, EU sanctions and questionable economic growth statistics.
"Why didn't the prime minister tell the diaspora that in four years it has grown in number by 200 thousand people who have left Kosovo?", said Haradinaj, adding that respect for the diaspora means telling them the truth.

Lying to the diaspora means denying it
The Albanian diaspora is part of the homeland and its contribution to freedom and the state has been essential.
This should be said by everyone and in any case. But the Albanian diaspora does not deserve to be lied to and deceived so shamelessly every time the elections approach. Albin Kurti, who is not remembered to have ever visited the diaspora, at least until the elections are approaching, should have told the complete truth about Kosovo.
To tell our compatriots that he and his government have left the Kosovo Army without bread; because they stole the food reserves, flour and oil, which the country needs in times of crisis.
To explain to your compatriots that together with the Serbian List they have excluded the freedom fighters from the salaries they deserve.
The diaspora must be told the truth that Albin Kurti and his government are to blame for why Kosovo is not in the process of joining NATO, that Kosovo has been excluded from "Defender", that it is under EU sanctions.
At least they should have been told that the government's information about economic growth of 33 percent is a lie, because the truth is ten times less. Or to tell them that salaries in Kosovo during his government have increased by only 6.8 euros.
Why didn't the Prime Minister tell the diaspora that for 4 years it has increased in number to 200 thousand people who have left Kosovo, but he tried to deceive them with the sentence "YOU HAVE FOUND THE HOMELAND"!
How can a man find his homeland, until he abandons it in misery? There are 1001 other painful truths that Albin Kurti did not mention in the meeting with the diaspora, but today the world has shrunk and people are seeing and knowing.
Whoever respects, honors and considers the diaspora as part of the motherland, he tells it the truth. Lies or half-truths are its denial!
