The Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers has opened the application for the electricity subsidy program for vulnerable consumers

According to the announcement, after the successful pilot last year where more than 61 thousand families benefited from subsidizing electricity bills, we have reopened the application for the 2024/2025 program.

All families resident in Kosovo, who meet the following conditions, have the right to apply: They have an average monthly income* of less than 150 euros per member. So a family of 4 members must have less than 600 euros of monthly income, and own less than 100,000 euros worth of real estate.

"For families that qualify, the subsidy will be paid directly on the bill, during the 6 months of the winter season, i.e. for the period from October 2024 to March 2025. The amount of the subsidy will depend on the number of members and the level of the family's average income, but it cannot exceed 50 euros per month", the announcement states.

According to this ministry, the application can be made in eKosova, at the "Grants and Subsidies" service, and will be open continuously throughout the program.

"In order to benefit from the first month, you must apply no later than October 31. Applications made after the end of the month can only benefit from the following month onwards. The calculation of income does not include income from disability pension (blind, para/tetraplegic), pension for families of martyrs, for war invalids, pension for civilian victims of war, pension for work disability, and income from the social assistance scheme", it says at the end of the announcement.
