A total of eight pre-sports disciplines will be organized in the Kosovo 202,4 Para-Sports Games that will take place today and tomorrow in Vushtrri. Wheelchair running, wheelchair basketball, judo and other disciplines will be demonstrated for two consecutive days.
The President of the Paralympic Committee of Kosovo, Njomza Emini, emphasized that the purpose of these games is to demonstrate the equality between this category of athletes and all other athletes in Kosovo.
She added that Kosovo's historic participation for the first time in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games with the athlete Grevist Bytyqi was proof that even athletes of this category can break any barrier and achieve great success in high-level international competitions.
Meanwhile, the director of the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, Lastriot Jashari, said that this institution proudly continues to support the activities of the Paralympic Committee, thus giving a message that society should empathize with this category and that they are a vital part of society and equal in each field.
Before the start of the competitions, the agreement was signed between the Paralympic Committee of Kosovo and KFOR for the acceptance of the wheelchair donation for para-athletics signed by the president, Njomza Emini and the commander of KFOR in Kosovo, Enrico Barduani.
The accepted cart will serve para-athletes in preparation for longer trail races.
