Independent statistics authority ELSTAT revised up Greece's gross domestic product growth estimate for 2023, raising it to 2.3 percent in the second annual national accounts estimate based on the provisional published today.

Its estimate for gross domestic product growth in 2023 based on provisional data in March was 2 percent.

Gross domestic product, at constant prices, was 196,984 billion euros in 2023 from 192,495 billion euros in 2022.

According to ELSTAT, aggregate final consumption expenditures increased 2 percent last year (household expenditures increased 1.8 percent, non-profit institutions serving households decreased 0.1 percent, and general government expenditures increased 2.6 percent).

Private investment (gross fixed capital formation) increased by 0.8 percent. Exports of goods and services increased by 1.9 percent and imports of goods and services increased by 0.9 percent. /ANA-MPA
