Allegations of misuse and conflict of interest in the allocation of grants by the Ministry of Agriculture will be clarified during these days, until the end of December. This is announced by the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (APK). After public pressure, the Ministry of Agriculture, led by Minister Faton Peci, has temporarily suspended the grants for the brother of the Vetëvendosje MP, Fitore Pacolli and the advisor of the said minister, Naim Huruglica on November 22, 2024 until a decision of the APK.

The director of APK, Yll Buleshkaj in an interview for KosovaPress says that the case is in process where the Ministry of Agriculture itself has requested that public claims for conflict of interest and irregularities be handled by this agency.

In case the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption finds that there was a violation of the law or certain procedures, including the conflict of interest, Buleshkaj estimates that the damage to the public budget will be prevented.

Regarding this request, he says that the 'point on these claims' will be decided within the year 2024, issuing the appropriate decision based on the law.

For this process, KosovaPress has tried to get answers from the Minister of Agriculture, Faton Peci and MP Fitore Pacolli, but they have not responded until the publication of this article.

The Youth Forum of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has filed a criminal complaint against Minister Peci and MP of LVV, at the same time chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee for Agriculture, Fitore Pacolli. LDK has demanded the resignation of the Minister of Agriculture as, according to them, public money has been misused. LDK officials, a few days ago, accused Peci and Pacolli, saying that they influenced the MP's brother to win a grant worth around 100 euros.

Regarding this case, it is reported that the deputy's brother denied the accusations, saying that he met all the criteria to win the grant.
