Today, Italian troops from KFOR reserves completed their arrival in support of the NATO-led mission, reinforcing their presence in Kosovo.

A KFOR press release states that the deployment of Italian troops in Kosovo is temporary.

"In the coming months, more than 200 soldiers from the Italian mechanized infantry brigade "Sassari" will carry out a series of activities, together with KFOR troops, and will be deployed in response to any significant development in the security situation, including the election period."

KFOR continues to implement its mandate by contributing to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities in Kosovo, at all times and in an impartial manner, in coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX.
