Although Spain is the top European destination for Spaniards when planning their summer trips, searches to get out of the "traditional resorts" are increasing among national travelers, according to an article published in the Spanish daily Forbes Espana.

According to data from online flight and destination search engine Kiwi.com, Albania is ranked among the favorite international destinations for Spaniards to travel to this summer.

The Albanian destination has become a trend in recent years and its route has become more popular, leading the list of European trips.

With the Ionian and Adriatic seas in the background, Albania offers travelers a perfect blend of natural beauty, rich cultural and gastronomic heritage.

From exploring the mountains of the Albanian Alps, discovering history through the archaeological remains of the ancient city of Apollonia or relaxing on one of the rocky beaches of the Albanian Riviera, this country has something for everyone.

The Mediterranean country is significantly more affordable than other popular destinations in Europe.

Visitors can explore its hiking trails and incredible landscapes.

Albania is also a paradise for wine lovers, as its land has a production to be envied, with numerous wineries and vineyards to visit and do tastings, reports ATSh.

According to Kiwi.com at the moment the airlines with the greatest demand from Madrid and Barcelona during the summer period - are destined for Tirana, Albania.

If last year there was an interest in traveling to Albania, this year this destination is listed in the top 5 of the best European trips.
