The representative of Kosovo in basketball has been left without a coach since the Israeli Rami Hadar has resigned from this position, which was also confirmed by the Basketball Federation of Kosovo through an official communiqué.
The president of the Basketball Federation, Arben Fetahu, spoke exclusively to KosovaPress about the reason for his departure. He said that the Israeli coach asked to leave for personal reasons, including the recent developments that are happening in his country.
"It was an unexpected decision both for me and for us in the Kosovo Basketball Federation. Coach Hadar requested that for personal reasons he withdraw from the position of selector, we accepted his request yesterday, we also have the official communication with him that we accept his request for resignation. The reasons are of course subjective, we have sympathized with what coach Hadar has experienced throughout this last year in terms of the unrest and everything about what is happening in Israel and ultimately his written request was that for personal reasons he wants to retire ", explained Fetahu first.
Three days ago, Hadal gave a statement where he expressed that he was very dissatisfied with the developments in Kosovo basketball and Fetahu admitted that such a statement was a warning that he will leave.
"Of course, coach Hadar made this decision before I gave him such a statement, this is my guess because I personally did not talk to him after everything that happened, but from the information I have, he knew that giving such a statement is a warning to the Kosovo Basketball Federation that they will part ways with this and what I can tell him with 100 percent certainty is that he has officially asked to resign for personal reasons", added Fetahu .
Fetahu also announced that they are already analyzing the names that can come to the head of Kosovo to replace Rami Hadar.
"What I can tell you at this moment is that we are considering all the coaches, both local and international, very carefully and we want to make the best selection. Of course, I greatly appreciate the members of the technical staff who are part of the local technical staff, as well as the international coaches, we constantly have offers for cooperation from coaches with many renown abroad... We are evaluating all options, I can't say more than that because really this happened two days ago and we are still receiving the proposals, talking to people and getting the best possible evaluations, whether we will go with a local or international coach remains to be seen next week", he said at the end Fatah.
Meanwhile, the next games for the Dardanians are in November, against Switzerland and Ireland for the pre-qualifiers of the 2027 World Cup.
