The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has received a congratulatory message from the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence.

In his message, President Erdogan expressed his warmest congratulations to President Osmani and the people of Kosovo on behalf of himself and the Turkish nation, reiterating the historical, human and cultural ties between the two countries.

"He underlined Turkey's unwavering support for Kosovo's sovereignty, territorial integrity and efforts to affirm itself in the international arena, recalling the role of his state as one of the first countries to recognize Kosovo's independence," the Office of the Presidency in Kosovo said in a statement.

President Erdogan emphasized the shared will to strengthen and expand bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest.
