March 7 in Kosovo and other Albanian lands is celebrated as Teacher's Day, but many countries around the world celebrate Teacher's Day on different dates.

Officially in most countries of the world, International Teacher's Day is October 5. For the first time this date was marked in 1994, in honor of the recommendations of UNESCO on the status of teachers, which is a standard instrument that addresses the situation in which teachers are found throughout the world.

Today's theme for 2024 is Valuing Teachers' Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education, which reminds us of the passion teachers bring to their profession every day, doing whatever it takes to positively impact lives of their students.

World Teacher's Day represents an important sign of awareness, understanding and appreciation for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and the development of society over the years. /KosovaPress/
