Support for the categories that emerged from the war and protection of the national interest are the priorities of the Democratic Party of Kosovo candidate for MP, Fadil Demaku. He is aiming to return to his seat in the Kosovo Assembly after the February 9 elections.
Demaku, who holds number 19 on the PDK list for the general elections, says that this party's program is the best for the citizens of Kosovo.
"The offer of our candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza, is the best offer for the citizens of Kosovo, starting first from the economic aspect, which is an offer for the development of the country, for the country's economy, for stopping this approach in relation to the citizens and for the progress of Kosovo in relation to the international arena towards the integration of our country... I have the opportunity, I have sufficient energy and capacities to give my maximum contribution within the framework of Bedri Hamza's project as a candidate for prime minister," says Demaku.
The former member of the Kosovo Liberation Army believes that the current government has not had the right approach towards the categories that emerged from the war.
For this reason, Demaku says that with his arrival in the Kosovo Assembly, the voices of veterans, family members and war invalids will be heard more."Being part of the Kosovo Liberation Army myself, I think that during this governing mandate, all categories that emerged from the war have had an incorrect approach from the government towards them. And I think that I will be one of the powerful voices that will protect the interests of this category in society because of what these categories represent, as the main and most deserving part of what we are today as a country, as a society, and I think that in the legal aspect there should be a completely different approach, a protection of these values with amendments to the laws so that these can be a dignified part of our society", stressed Demaku.
The coming to power of the Democratic Party of Kosovo will bring a serious approach to security in the country, says the party's candidate for MP, Fadil Demaku.
He adds that with PDK, soldiers and police officers will have dignified lives.
"PDK will create a new approach first so that the Kosovo soldier is dignified in his work, with salary and all equipment in relation to current developments, and the demands of international factors that we have claims to become part of NATO. Regarding the Kosovo Police, we have had an extraordinary degradation, today we meet people who are part of this institution and believe me, they talk about the difficulties of outdated uniforms... their salaries are very low, their wages are beyond any standard and their treatment in terms of strengthening is in great disagreement with what is propagated to the public. In this regard, we think that when PDK was in government, there was a much more positive approach in relation to these institutions," he says.
He promises to be a strong voice in defending the interests of citizens."We will be a strong voice in defense of their interests, we will never be silenced. My past has been that in difficult times in the face of great pressures, such as the Special Court itself, I have maintained a negative stance on that... in matters that deal especially with great national interests for citizens, I will strongly not submit to any pressure and will be a strong voice in defense of what citizens demand," says Demaku.
In Kosovo, the election campaign for the parliamentary elections to be held on February 11 officially began on January 9./KosovaPress
