Manchester City scored a convincing victory against Newcastle United today in the derby of the 25th week of the English Premier League in football, while the other title contender Arsenal took three important points on the road against the penultimate team in the table Leicester City.

The Gunners secured victory with Merino's goals scored in the 81st and 87th minutes.

Aston Villa surprised their viewers by only drawing 18-1 with Ipswich Town, who are ranked in 1th position.

Fulham at home was better than Nottingham Forest with a score of 2:1. Southampton suffered another defeat, this time by Bournemouth with a score of 1:3. West Ham United was surprised at home by Brentford - 0:1.

Crystal Palace and Everton also play tonight, while on Sunday leader Liverpool hosts Wolves, while London team Tottenham Hotspur will face a difficult challenge with Manchester United.

Liverpool has 57 points, followed by Arsenal with 53, Nottingham Forest 47, Manchester City 44, Bournemouth 43, Chelsea 43, Newcastle United 41. Fulham and Aston Villa are ranked eighth and ninth with 39 and 38 points, respectively.  

The three teams at risk of relegation from the English football elite are Ipswich Town with 17 points, Leicester City 17 and Southampton 9 points in 20th place in the table.
